Buttons can turn a plain dress into a great one.  The black dress was made specifically to show off the buttons. The blue dress was made to show off a pearl necklace, and the pearl buttons on the dress repeat the style. The buttons are just an accent, not functional. The cocktail dress features a re-embroidered lace yoke with small pearl buttons and loops.
